What is the Excellence in Online Education Mini-Grant Program?

This professional development program provides training and funding to CGS instructors who want to redesign their online class to offer a more impactful online learning experience.

Scope of Grant

  • Up to four (4) $500 mini-grants available

Mini-Grant Requirements

The grant is awarded to each participant who successfully completes the following requirements:

  • Participation in the summer edition of the CGS Faculty Development Cohort, incl. but not limited to attending 3 virtual workshops and meeting deliverable deadlines.
  • Completion of CGS Online Demo Training course.
  • Regular 1:1 consultations with a CGS instructional designer.
  • Revised course meets CGS-accepted quality standards for online delivery.

Eligibility

Priority is given to instructors who:

  • Will be teaching a web asynchronous or hybrid class for CGS in Fall 2024.
  • Have not received course development funding from CGS in the past two years.
  • Plan a significant upgrade (60% and more) to their online class.

This program requires time commitment as well as willingness to collaborate with the CGS ID Team. Interested applicants should familiarize themselves with the CGS Faculty Development Cohort Program and the CGS Tiers of ID Support.
