About the Non-Degree Application
To apply as a non-degree student, submit the free online application. Your application must:
- Include all required information
- Have all necessary documents uploaded
- Be electronically signed and submitted
Incomplete applications cannot be processed.
What You'll Need to Apply
Prepare the following materials before beginning your application:
TRANSCRIPTS (REQUIRED)
- Pitt students: No Pitt transcript needed
- Pitt faculty/staff with Pitt degrees: No prior transcripts required
- Certificate applicants with no college experience: Submit an official high school transcript
How to submit transcripts:
- Upload a PDF or JPEG version to your application
- Scans of printed transcripts are acceptable if clearly legible
- Unacceptable: Grade reports, advising transcripts, academic progress reports
Departments may request your transcript to verify prerequisites. Keep a copy for your records. Unreadable files will be rejected.
PERSONAL ESSAY (OPTIONAL)
The essay is not required for most applicants.
Submit one only if you are a certificate applicant who does not meet admissions criteria.
- Not required for post-baccalaureate or summer/guest students
Admission Timing & Deadlines
- Rolling admissions — apply at any time
- Submit your application at least 2 weeks before classes begin
- Processing time is typically 2–4 weeks
- Check term dates on the University Academic Calendar.
Applications submitted too close to the start of a term may not be processed in time.
