Sarah Quesen has over 25 years’ experience in education. In addition to teaching at University of Pittsburgh in the department of statistics, Dr. Quesen works for WestEd in Assessment Research & Innovation (AR&I). WestEd is a nonpartisan research, development, and service agency, that works with education communities to promote excellence, achieve equity, and improve learning. Dr. Quesen directs large-scale research studies, supports evidence-based technical assistance to states and districts, and advances AR&I’s research agenda by creating, communicating, and applying new knowledge in educational measurement. She is committed to identifying ways to enhance diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility considerations in all areas of her work. She has extensive expertise in applied statistics, psychometrics, and assessment and accountability models. Dr. Quesen has a PhD in Research Methodology from the University of Pittsburgh, an MPH from West Virginia University School of Medicine, and a BS in Culture and Communication from New York University.
