Isaiah Bertagnolli, PhD

  • History of Art & Architecture | Dietrich School

As an instructor, my goal is to promote visual literacy by showing how images make meaning and how images influence culture. Outside the online classroom, I produce a public art lecture series, “Art! With Dr. Ike, Ph.D.” My primary research focus is on US art and nuclear disarmament movements. I have held fellowships at Pitt, the Mattress Factory Museum of Contemporary Art, the University of Chicago, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
