Statement of Intent
I am running for President of the College of General Studies Student Government because I am passionate about strengthening the CGS community and ensuring every student feels supported, represented, and prepared for future success. As a driven leader, I prioritize building strong relationships in our tight-knit community and transforming ideas into initiatives that positively impact students. Over the past year, I have gained hands-on leadership experience within CGS. I organized the Mix Candle Co. event, our first off-campus student event, which strengthened student engagement and community connection. I have also facilitated mass student communication through Qualtrics, developed familiarity with university contract and vendor processes, and built strong working relationships with CGS advisors and staff. Through my participation in weekly meetings with the current CGS Student Government President and the Director of CGS, I am well prepared to ensure a seamless leadership transition and continued progress on our initiatives.
If elected, I will focus on three key priorities. First, expanding career and professional development opportunities by introducing virtual career fairs, resume workshops, and proposing a program for students who are interested in receiving an outside certificate to aid their professional goals to apply for grants. I also want to create career panels tailored to CGS majors to help students explore career paths and build meaningful professional connections. Second, I will advocate for greater academic accessibility by expanding remote proctoring options, encouraging more virtual office hours, and promoting recorded lectures to better support non-traditional students. Finally, I will strengthen representation for non-traditional students by establishing a Non-Traditional Student Committee and hosting workshops focused on balancing school and work, study strategies, and technology refreshers. My goal is to ensure CGS continues to be a place where every student has the resources, flexibility, and voice they deserve.

Position of Interest: Vice President
Statement of Intent
As your current Judicial Affairs Chair, I've spent this past year deeply embedded in the structure of CGSSG by running elections, updating our constitution, and ensuring procedural fairness. Now, I'm running for Vice President because I want to take that same commitment to organization and accountability and direct it inward, toward strengthening our team. The Vice President is an operational role. It's about making sure our members are supported, our meetings are productive, and our plans actually get executed. That's exactly where my strengths lie. Through my work leading the Communications Working Group on the American Red Cross National Youth Council, I've managed weekly meetings, taken detailed minutes, advised team members on action items, and served as a bridge between leadership and advisors. I want to bring that same structure to CGSSG.
Specifically, I plan to implement structured chair meetings with standing updates and clear action items. At the start of each year, I'll work with every chair to build a month-by-month planning sheet so we can anticipate deadlines and stay ahead of logistics. I also want to introduce personal and professional SMART goals for our board to foster accountability and growth across both semesters. Beyond internal operations, I have ideas I'm excited to pursue alongside our President like free professional headshots for CGS students and a student-research panel that doubles as promotion for our conference travel fund. Ultimately, my goal is to maximize our efficiency, ensure CGS non-traditional students receive the same opportunities as students in other Pitt schools, and build a stronger, more connected team.
