Non-degree programs help enhance your professional skills through undergraduate-level coursework without having to complete a full degree. The College of General Studies (CGS) serves as your entry point to a variety of programs for all learners, including post-baccalaureate options, certificates, and initiatives such as the Pitt Prison Education Project.
Pitt Prison Education Project
Formed in 2016, The Pitt Prison Education Project (PPEP) is a network of Pitt faculty members from across the disciplines who teach courses in prisons in the western PA region. The courses that are taught every semester feature small class sizes comprising incarcerated students and Pitt undergraduates.

Post-Baccalaureate & Beyond
For students who already hold a degree—bachelor’s, master’s, or higher—this option lets you take individual undergraduate courses to build skills, explore new areas, or expand your knowledge without enrolling in a full degree program.
