We know that finals are coming up, and we've got your back! Pick up a free finals survival kit (goody bags filled with liquid IV, popcorn, hot chocolate, fidget toy, and more) sometime during finals weeks. All you have to do is stop by the McCarl Center (first floor of Posvar Hall next to the home plate) and tell the staff member at the front desk, Ms. Sandy, that you're a CGS student who's picking up a finals survival kit.December 8th-12th between 9 AM - 12:15 PM and 1:45 - 4:45 PM | McCarl Center, Posvar HallFood Drive»In collaboration with Pitt Eats, SGB, and many other Pitt departments, we're collecting non-perishable food items until December 13. All items will be donated to the Pitt Pantry, and Pitt Eats will match every donation! There are multiple locations for you to drop off donations all across campus, so please consider contributing to this important cause!Donation deadline: December 13In collaboration with SGB, we're also having a warm clothing drive! If you have any items such as jackets, gloves, hats, and scarves, please consider donating these to support our Pitt community. Drop off locations for donations include the Academic Advising Center (201 Thackery Hall), the Study Lab, and SGB's office (WPU 8th floor).CGSSG is excited to launch our annual multimedia contest with cash prizes (up to $500)! We invite all CGS students—traditional and nontraditional alike—to participate by submitting creative projects that explore how their CGS educational experience is helping them achieve their future personal, academic, or career goals. Submissions can include any creative medium (film, photograph, art, creative writing, etc.).Submissions accepted until Sunday, February 15Want to share your CGS story? Do you love your major? To promote our Instagram and CGS as a whole, we want to film reels with CGS students and highlight them on our Instagram account (@cgs_sgb). Students who participate will get paid $20 to reward them for their time (shouldn't take longer than 30 minutes). This paid opportunity doesn't end in December - submit anytime.For those of you graduating this December, we want to celebrate you! This isn't an official graduation ceremony, but it will be a chance for you to celebrate your accomplishments with your friends, family, and CGS community! Build Your Brand—Learn How to Be a Social Media Ambassador»Do you want to learn more about becoming a social media ambassador? Want to help promote brands and their products? CGSSG will be hosting a casual, interactive event meant to equip you with the skills, knowledge, and network on how to become a social media ambassador. From Doritos to skin care companies, we have students who've promoted multiple brands who will share firsthand tips and tricks! This may be especially useful for those of you majoring in Media and Professional Communications, and we'll also have someone from the Career Center there to give you advice on how to land an internship!Monday, November 17 from 12:30-1:30 PM | WPU 548No RSVP needed. These awards will be given out at the Excellence Reception on Tuesday, April 8th. The deadline to nominate a faculty or staff member is March 24th.
