Beth Marcello is an experienced leader with an extensive background in strategic program management, communications and marketing. For nearly 18 years, she directed PNC Bank’s Women’s Business Development strategy, differentiating PNC among women financial decision-makers nationwide through a corps of PNC-Certified Women’s Business Advocates that grew to more than 5,000 women and men employees leveraging a proprietary training curriculum and specialized tools, resources and events. Prior to joining PNC predecessor National City in 2006, Marcello was founder and president of PRwriting, Inc., a Pittsburgh-based consultancy that provided strategic stakeholder communication services to corporate and nonprofit clients for two decades. Since retiring from PNC at the end of 2023, Marcello has resumed her writing and consulting practice. Marcello has a long track record of advocacy and community involvement. She is the 2023 recipient of Pittsburgh’s prestigious Athena Award, which recognized her community involvement and commitment to causes that positively impact women and girls. Currently, Marcello serves as vice chair of the City Theatre Company board; board member of Respect Together, a Pennsylvania nonprofit dedicated to eliminating domestic violence, and also serves on the organization’s development and antiracism committees; and board member and grant committee member of the Birmingham Foundation. She is a founding member of Pittsburgh’s first women-focused angel investment fund, Next Act Fund, and an Emeritus Board member of the multi-generational mentoring organization Strong Women, Strong Girls (now Girls Inc.), where she served for more than 10 years in a variety of capacities, including chair of the Pittsburgh Regional board.
