William Hawthorne, PsyD

William has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from Central Michigan University in 1980 and completed post-doctoral residencies in both Clinical Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology. He previously was the Chief Psychologist at a major teaching hospital and has also built a large Department of Psychology and an APA accredited internship program. He also provides faculty appointments in an APA accredited Internship program, Internal Medicine, and Psychiatry Residency programs.

Dr. Hawthorne's clinical practice focused mainly on psychological assessment and intervention with medically complicated patients, and intensive psychotherapy with adults and seniors.  His interests include Third Generation Behavioral and Mindfulness-Based Therapies, Cognitive and Metacognitive approaches to therapy and also the relationship between health-oriented activities and psychological well-being.
