CGS offers minors and undergraduate certificates to both current Pitt students and non-degree students interested in standalone credentials. Whether you're pursuing a degree or looking to advance your skills through a focused program, we have options for you.
For Degree-Seeking Pitt Students (Including Non-CGS)
Current University of Pittsburgh students enrolled outside of CGS can add a CGS minor or undergraduate certificate, or both, to their academic plan.
To do this:
- Submit the brief CGS Certificate/Minor Application Form online.
- Once reviewed, eligible programs will be added to your student plan.
Already a CGS student?
Contact your CGS academic advisor directly to declare a minor or certificate.
Please note:
- All students must meet CGS minor and certificate requirements for admission.
- Some programs may have additional entry or prerequisite requirements. Review the certificate program information carefully before submitting your form.
For Non-Degree Students (Standalone Certificate Pathway)
You do not need to be a degree-seeking student at Pitt to pursue a CGS certificate. Many of our certificates are available as standalone programs for adult learners, returning students, and working professionals.
To apply:
- Submit the free Non-Degree Student Application.
- Select your certificate of interest and indicate your intent to enroll as a non-degree student.
Helpful Tip: You’ll be asked to create an account to access and complete the application at your own pace if this is your first time applying at CGS. Learn more.
