Become a CGSSG Student Ambassador
We're looking forward to welcoming new students to our AY 2026–2027 CGSSG Student Ambassador cohort! Student Ambassadors help connect prospective and current students, build community, and share what makes their CGS majors and the College of General Studies unique.

CGS is a close-knit school within Pitt, but it can sometimes be difficult for students to meet and connect with others in their major. Student Ambassadors help bridge that gap by serving as representatives for their majors and creating more opportunities for students to connect.
CGS aims to have one Student Ambassador per major, creating a diverse group of student leaders that reflects the range of experiences within CGS—including both traditional and nontraditional students.
A Paid Leadership Opportunity
Student Ambassadors are compensated at a rate of $25 per hour for each CGS event they attend.

Compensation for each CGS event attended.
3 Events per Semester
Ambassadors are required to attend at least three CGS events each semester.
No Weekly Commitment
There is no set weekly time commitment. Participation is based on CGS events throughout the term.
Payment: Payments are issued at the end of each semester once attendance has been verified and the minimum event requirement has been met.
What Ambassadors Do
- Attend CGS and CGS Student Government (CGSSG) events, with a minimum of three events per semester.
- Follow CGSSG on Instagram @cgs_sgb and repost CGSSG posts.
- Share CGS and CGSSG events with professors in your major.
- Attend one CGSSG meeting each month.
- Optional: If you have an initiative you'd like to develop or lead, contact CGSSG to discuss the opportunity.

Favorite Memory at Pitt: One of my favorite memories at Pitt is a collection of small adventures with friends as we set out to try every boba shop near campus. Those outings, from sunset walks back to campus to debating the best taro milk tea, were less about the drinks themselves and more about the sense of companionship that made Pitt feel like home.
