Mark Serge, JD

  • Law, Criminal Justice & Society | CGS

I graduated from Pitt as an undergrad in 1988; and Pitt law school in 1991. I most recently worked as a prosecutor for the Office of Attorney General from 1999-2025; I retired as the attorney supervisor of the Bureau of Narcotics Investigation and Drug Strike Force Section, and supervised state drug prosecutors all across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; before my promotion, I worked as an Organized Crime and Medicaid Fraud/Healthcare Fraud prosecutor as well. I was an Assistant District Attorney in both Venango and Westmoreland County before working at the AG's Office, with a two year stint as an associate attorney in a civil insurance defense firm. I retired from the AG's Office in March 2025 and currently work as private attorney and law clerk in Westmoreland County. I am also a Realtor and work with Coldwell Banker. I bring my professional and practical experience to my teaching at Pitt and hope to provide students with the practical as well as the academic as it relates to criminal justice generally, and organized crime specifically.
