CGS Scholarships

Summer Internship Scholarship
Although sometimes difficult for a nontraditional student to fit into their busy schedule, internships offer an opportunity to apply academics in a professional setting and enhance their employability after the completion of a degree program. In addition, internships are often unpaid or in fact paid for by the student in the form of the college tuition. The College of General Studies Summer Internship Scholarship addresses the need to alleviate the financial burden and time constraints of an unpaid internship for those motivated students. Up to three scholarships will be awarded each summer to cover the tuition and fees of a three-credit internship.

Eligibility Requirements:

●     Must be registered for three internship credits (CGS, ADMJ, LEGLST or NPHS 1900) for the summer term
●     Must not be eligible for tuition remission
●     Must demonstrate financial need and have a FAFSA on file with the University
●     Must be enrolled in a CGS bachelor’s degree program
●     Must demonstrate good academic standing (2.5 QPA minimum)

Application Requirements:

●     Copy of internship agreement form
●     Essay (no more than one page, double-spaced). The essay should explain how your internship combined with your CGS degree will help you achieve your academic and career goals.

Summer 2018 Deadline: Sunday, April 15, 2018. Apply here.
