If you want to make a meaningful difference at Pitt while building leadership skills, consider becoming part of the CGS Student Government (CGSSG) team.
CGSSG leaders help represent the interests and perspectives of CGS students, support events and initiatives, and work with fellow student leaders to strengthen the CGS student experience.
Choose Your Leadership Role
CGSSG offers students the opportunity to take on meaningful leadership roles and contribute to the CGS student experience. Students can serve as a CGSSG Chair or as a General Board Member.
CGSSG Chairs
CGSSG Chairs help lead the organization, coordinate its work, and provide direction for student government throughout the academic year. Chairs work closely with other student leaders to represent CGS students, advance CGSSG initiatives, and strengthen the student experience.
General Board Members
General Board Members bring the perspectives and experiences of CGS students to student government. They participate in meetings, contribute to discussions and initiatives, support CGSSG events, and help connect students with their representatives.
What You'll Do
- Represent the interests, experiences, and perspectives of CGS students.
- Participate in CGSSG meetings and contribute to student government discussions.
- Help plan and support CGSSG programs, events, and initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with CGSSG Chairs, General Board Members, and other student leaders.
- Bring student ideas, concerns, and opportunities forward.
- Help build connections and community among CGS students.
Leadership Opportunities
Open CGSSG leadership positions may vary from year to year. Current opportunities will be posted on this page in January each year.
Interested in serving as President, Vice President, or Business Manager? These leadership roles are available to students who have previously served on CGSSG for at least one year.
