CGS By the Numbers
CGS students are deeply engaged in their studies, gaining hands-on experience both domestically and internationally while excelling academically. Here are some key highlights from Academic Year 2023-2024.
Student Stories
Our students receive support to pursue certification workshops and internship opportunities, helping them gain hands-on experience and achieve their academic and professional goals. Here is what they have to say about their experiences.
“Receiving the scholarship made it possible to complete a summer internship. With the scholarship, I didn't have to stress about paying for the summer course and could check off a class for my major! My internship was at The Pitt News, and it gave me a great introduction to see what the professional world might be like. The course allowed me to dissect my skills and lay out what I did during my summer internship. Overall, I am very grateful to have received that scholarship!”

“I enjoyed the workshop because I connected with people at Pitt who shared my interests. As a senior looking for a post-grad job, it was a great opportunity to talk to marketing professionals and get advice from them. I got a bunch of new connections and had the chance to connect with them outside of the workshop, whether that be a 30 min zoom call or even just exchanged emails back and forth. I really hope to go to more workshops like this when they are offered and I wish I knew about them my earlier years at Pitt!”

"The CGS scholarship gifted me an incredible opportunity to not only participate in a transformative summer internship but also earn credits toward my degree. This experience allowed me to build valuable professional relationships, deepen my knowledge in my chosen field, and gain a clearer vision of my future career goals. Throughout this journey, I grew both as a professional and as a student. Surrounded by supportive mentors, colleagues, professors, and advisors, I developed a network of guidance and encouragement that I will carry with me forever. Thank you CGS!"
