Melissa Ilnicki

Melissa Ilnicki is a registered respiratory therapist with extensive clinical experience and currently serves as a regulatory coordinator at the University of Pittsburgh. As a nontraditional student, she earned her associate degree over 30 years ago and later returned to school to pursue a bachelor's degree.
Saoirse Kelly
Natural Sciences
At 51, Saoirse Kelly is an immigrant from Belfast whose path to higher education has been anything but traditional. Living with a pituitary adenoma that has threatened her life twice in the last few years has shaped her resilience and perspective — she persists, no matter what. Her experience as a fire service EMT revealed her true calling in healthcare and inspired her to pursue further education. She is now at the University of Pittsburgh preparing for admission into a Physician Assistant graduate program, with the ultimate goal of serving as a primary care provider in an underserved community. Throughout this journey, Pitt has been an incredibly supportive and welcoming place, and she is deeply grateful for the kindness she has received along the way. H2P!
Aubrey Montes
Natural Sciences
Aubrey Montes is a senior CGS Natural Science major pursuing the pre-medical (Dental) track. She served 7 years in the Navy as a hospital corpsman, where she discovered her passion for dentistry. She is a licensed dental assistant and splits her time between Pittsburgh and Italy with her fiancé and dogs.

Christina Singh is completing her Health Services degree this August while working full-time and raising two young boys. They inspire her commitment and determination. She is grateful for the Steele & Luiso Scholarship she received and is excited to graduate, celebrate with her family, and begin the next chapter.
