CGS Academic Programs and Pitt’s LMS Support and Consulting team have partnered to offer a 3-part Welcome to Canvas webinar series for instructors in the College of General Studies.
The online events take place from 12 to 1pm on Tuesday, March 24, Thursday, March 26, and Tuesday, March 31. Part 1 will focus on the global functions of Canvas (Course Dashboard, Calendar, and Inbox) as well course settings and course user management. Part 2 will introduce how the Pages, Modules, and Files features work together to give instructors a flexible, dynamic home for their course online. Part 3 will cover creating assignments, tests, and quizzes in Canvas; using SpeedGrader tool to read, comment on and grade student work, and using the online gradebook.
The webinar series is recommended for all faculty who teach for CGS, whether face-to-face or online. Registration for workshops is mandatory which ensures distribution of pre-workshop materials and accurate attendance records. To register for the workshops, click on the dates above.
