The Snapshot: Resumes and Cover Letters

Resumes and cover letters are the most difficult “snapshots” to
take because they are ever changing. In this interactive workshop,
you will learn how to create a clear snapshot of your academic
and works skills and frame it in a chronological resume and cover letter. Please bring a disk, CD, or flash drive with you!

Interviewing Skills/Salary Negotiations
Wednesday October 10 5:30-6:30 p.m.

If the thought of interviewing and negotiating a salary leaves
you petrified, you need this seminar! This interactive workshop
will address many of the questions you have about interviewing
and the interviewing process. Also, we will discuss how to respond
to issues regarding large time gaps in your resume and disability/
health concerns.

Networking

It has been said that finding a job has more to do with who you know,
rather than what you know. Our guest speaker, Justin Norris, Coordinator of the Pitt Career Network, will discuss the concept, theory and proven practice of networking. Also, he will help you craft and apply an effective networking style.

Preparing for Federal Careers
Wednesday November 7 5:30-6:30 p.m.

In this workshop we will focus on how to best prepare for the upcoming Federal Career Day Job Fair. We will discuss how to organize your federal search, best practices inquiring about open positions, and what questions to ask with respect to resume’s and KSAs!
