For students who want to apply for a degree status program in CGS, are just getting started and have little college experience or are returning after being out for a considerable period of time, we suggest you contact the office of Admissions and Financial Aid Undergraduate Visit Center at: 412-624-7717 or email

Financial aid at the University of Pittsburgh may include loans, grants, and scholarships, funded in large measure by the federal and state governments. The University of Pittsburgh Office of Admissions and Financial Aid reviews all university students' applications for financial aid.

-- Learning Solutions at the College of General Studies provides a flexible delivery system of courses to accommodate the busy schedule of working adults.
The University External Studies Program (UESP), Day Program, Saturday College, and our three off-site campuses in Beaver County, Monroeville, and the South Hills offer a variety of ways for time-bound adult students to complete a degree or certificate program.

A: Osher Lifelong Learning Institute
-- Experience the joy of learning with noncredit courses designed for individuals who are retired or semi-retired, age 55 or over. Established by a grant from the Bernard Osher Foundation, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) creates a true intellectual community of adult learning at the University of Pittsburgh. Members of the OLLI may choose from an array of noncredit courses taught by distinguished Pitt emeriti faculty and scholars, audit an undergraduate course, and participate in many special programs. The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute can enrich your life through an exploration of the liberal arts: humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.
