Minors

Three departmental minors are available in programs offered by the College of General Studies and fifteen minors are available through departments in the School of Arts and Sciences. For the minor, students must complete at least one half of the minor at the University of Pittsburgh's main campus and must earn a 2.0 or better QPA in minor courses.

Administration of Justice (CGS)

Develop your understanding of the evolution, theory, structure, functioning, and process of change in the system of American criminal justice. Choose one of these three specialized areas: Adult and Juvenile Corrections, Law Enforcement Practice, or Social Policy Planning and the Legal Process.

Legal Studies (CGS)

This interdisciplinary course of study combines the theories and methods of several social science disciplines and law. It is not designed as a pre-law program; its goal is to enable you to develop an understanding of the nature, content, and operation of American law and legal institutions.

Public Service (CGS)

This major prepares students for careers in the administration of both public organizations and private industry. Emphasis is on familiarizing the potential administrator with modern management techniques while providing the necessary quantitative training.
